I'm back with a few one layer cards for A Blog Named Hero's challenge this month. I got these great wide masking tapes from Officeworks which I diecut some butterflies with. I intended on using just the negative space but proceeded to make another card with the butterfly masks. Here are my cards! Thanks for dropping by!

Peony Bouquet Love 2
I'm still having fun with the Altenew Peony Bouquet stampset. Here is one with plenty of masking! I made two since I used my MISTI to line up all the layers of stamping. I'm adding this to Altenew June Inspiration challenge, Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Mask It challenge and Simon Says Stamp Monday Summer Garden challenge. Thanks for dropping by!
I've used the following to make this card:
Altenew Peony Bouquet, Winnie and Walter The Party, Altenew Inks - Summer Breeze, Warm Sunshine and Caramel Toffee, Ranger Archival Jet Black ink, Hero Arts Field Green and Green Hills, Kaisercraft glitter tape and some sequins to match the dress.

An old one layer technique
I'm back again for another one layer card for A Blog Named Hero One Layer challenge. I was so excited when I visited my local Officeworks recently and discovered they had Post-it notes on a wide tape! The tape brought back a technique that Jennifer McGuire shared over a year ago. I cut a strip to mask on an angle and stamped from various stamp sets and a few different colours. Just before removing the mask, I sponged with some distress ink (outwards from the mask). After removing the mask, I stamped the sentiment. To add a bit of dimension to the card, I scored two lines along the masked edges. Then I had to add some sequins of course!
Thanks for dropping by!!

One Layer card with ombre stamping
I've had this Altenew stampset since before Christmas and have not had a chance to ink it up. I almost forgot that I had it until I found it in my stamp collection today. Since I've been watching some live Periscope videos from CHA a couple of days ago, I spotted this card that was at the Make and Take at Altenew and loved it! I do not have the exact same colours but the technique is almost the same. The layers of stamping are with two shades of yellow and one orange and the leaves are second generation stamping with black with the outline image in black. I have based this card on the current CAS(E) this sketch. I'm also adding this to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Ombre challenge and A Blog Named Hero's One Layer challenge. The inks I've used are Ranger Lemon Twist, Hero Arts Butter Bar and Orange Soda.

One Layer Card
Back with my second post today for the A Blog Named Hero Facebook team. Yes, I've volunteered again this year! I'm adding this card to the current A Blog Named Hero One Layer Challenge and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - Something New (The Stencil). I bought this stencil as I've seen Michelle Lupton used it on a regular basis and I really like the swirly pattern. This is my first go at using the stencil... you may see more variations of this in the future!!
Oh, you want to know how I did the background?
I placed the stencil over the folded card and taped down the card and the stencil. I sponged with Distress Inks Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserve. After lifting off the stencil, I sponged the edges of the card with more Picked Raspberry. Lastly the sentiment and dots were stamped in black. Too easy and fun to do!! Thanks for dropping by!!

One Layer Card
It's always challenging to do a one-layer card with masking. The effort is all worth it when the mask is removed. This card is made with a wide tape used to mask the sentiment strip. After stamping the images, I coloured them with Copic markers and highlighted with a white gel pen. When I was about to die cut some Post-It notes to mask the images, I thought I would use latex instead. I have a big jar left over from my ceramic painting days, it did the trick! A little bit of distress sponging and detailing with Wink of Stella and it's done! I'm entering this card to the Hero Arts One Layer, A Blog Named Hero's Colour it in, and the CAS(E) this sketch #84 challenges. The products I used are listed below.
I'm so excited that this card got a Retro Sketches SHOUTout. Thanks for dropping by!

4 Days Til Christmas
It was nice to finish up at work yesterday with a work staff Christmas function. We had drinks and pizza at a restaurant near work and it was well attended. Well, I don't know what happened today, but I feel very tired and there is just so much for me to do and I can't get started on anything. So, I turned to my Craft Room and started making some cards. This one uses a stamp set I bought at the end of Christmas last year and it has not been used. I gold embossed the image and then masked off a triangle to ink the tree in. Quick last minute cards are just what we need right now!
Ingredients
Neenah Desert Storm, Hero Arts CG397 Joyful Christmas Season, Versamark, Gold EP, Distress Inks Evergreen Bough and Bundled Sage, Kaisercraft pearls and rhinestones.

Sunset card
Quite a few of my friends know that I like a good sunrise or sunset photo. Whenever I see a great sunset or sunrise, I have to take a shot. When we were in Phuket last year, I woke up before 6am on several mornings just so that I can get a great shot! So when the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge photo was posted this week, I could not resist. The card was already done, in my head. Here is my card and also my photo of sunrise over Phang Nga bay in Phuket. I'm also submitting this card to Moxie Fab World Birthday Card challenge and Simon Says Stamp 'Celebrate' challenge. Thanks for dropping by!

HCW1
I'm participating in my third online class. This will be my second one with Jennifer McGuire. The list of teachers in this class is awesome and I can't wait to see what we are in for. I have already taken 3 classes and I've been dying to give it a go. I've been pretty busy lately as I just submitted more cards for magazine publication calls. Now that is over, I needed a day off before I can get back into more card making. I can't think of a better way to start than to make my card inspired by Jennifer in Class One of the Holiday Card Workshop (there is still time to register)! Here it is, hope you like it. It was really easy to do and took no time at all! Hero Arts has just announced the November Contest - 'Bring on the Bling', just as well I added in some rhinestones on this card!
Ingredients:
Cardstock - Neenah Classic Solar White
Stamps - Hero Arts CL558, CL633
Inks - Hero Arts Mid-tone Pool, Wet Cement and Stone Wash, Tim Holtz Distress Broken China
Others - Ranger stickles, Kaisercraft rhinestones

Black and Orange
Since I have the orange distress inks out for the last card I made, I decided to do another CAS card on a cream card this time. The card was masked off and inked with Ripe Persimmon and Spiced Marmalade. The Snowflakes and Edges stamp was stamped over the background with black. I'm submitting this card to the HA September challenge - A Stamp for all seasons (so I've used a Christmas background stamp on a birthday card!) The other challenge is the Simon Says Stamp Trendy Challenge - Neon/Hexagon/Chevron. Don't get me started - I have so many ideas in my head, just don't have enough time on my hands!! For those following my twitter feeds, I will be posting all my Mali photos soon, may have to break it up into two postings as there are 50 photos altogether! Thanks for dropping by!

Here is another CAS card I made tonight. Yes, it is Spring in Melbourne and I've made a card with Autumn leaves! I've been wanting to try out one layer stamping with masking. I recently bought some paper tape from overseas which is like sticky note pad but on a tape dispenser. It is not as sticky as washi tape. I used it to tape off the area I wanted to stamp, leaving enough white space for the card to be classified as CAS! The background was inked with Spiced Marmalade and Ripe Persimmon - don't you love Tim's creativity in naming his inks! The leaves were stamped with Seedless Preserve, Pine Needles and Gathered Twigs - the colours for the Hero Arts September challenge. I'm also submitting this card to Simply Less is More's One Layer challenge and Moxie Fab World Repetition challenge. Pop back tomorrow as I had time to make another one tonight, I think I'm over my CASphobia. Thanks for dropping by!

Zenspired Cards
Time for some really Casual and Simple (CAS) cards using one layered stamping and inspirations from Zenspiration. I first came across the Sakura website last year and was enthralled with Joanne Fink. I'm not really into CAS cards, but have been giving them a go. When I saw the challenge on Less is More - One Layer Card with doodling, the ideas were spinning in my head. The first card I made was using HA Magical Flower (another new stamp I purchased from the Paperific Expo), this was the ideal stamp as it was large enough to fill up most of the card.
It was hard to stop myself from adding any embellishments (What? No Washi tapes?) to the card, just keeping it CAS! I added Zenspired doodles to the outer petals of the flower and the centre. This stamp is just perfect for this challenge! I enjoyed it so much, I decided to do another card, this time using the HA April sketch.
I combined two stamps and masked off each section after I stamped to create the card. The doodling on the flower was fun! I do not have the Sakura pens that Joanne uses, I used black gel and ink pens instead. Thank you for dropping by!
Challenges:
Less is More - Week 63 One Layer
Hero Arts April Sketch Challenge
