It’s been a while since I’ve crafted. I recently attended an Altenew workshop in Melbourne with Tasnim and Therese! Yes, it was in Melbourne!! I purchased this set whilst I was there. The inks were part of a set that was given to us as part of the workshop. I based the card on the current CAS(E) this sketch challenge (there are three score lines behind the flowers which is hard to photograph). Thanks for dropping by!

Pretty Pansies

Watercolour Sympathy cards

I have a couple of Sympathy cards to share. As I love the watercolour trend at the moment, I find this a very easy medium to make something quick and effective. The Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolour set is still on my wish list. Until then, I've been using the Distress Inks with lots of water to get the effect I'm after. I hope Santa is listening... it's the 36 colour set, the same one that Jennifer has!

Sympathy cards

It's always hard to make Sympathy cards and I don't usually make them unless I need to. I was under pressure to make two tonight after hearing of the sudden death of a close friend's brother today. His nephew is staying with us and we are taking him to the airport tomorrow so that he can be there for the funeral on the weekend. These two cards I've made are for the two families. I have decided to use the PTI Boutique Borders again, this time with the flourish outside the frame. The flower is made using the Lovely Layers dies. Thank you for dropping by.

Repeats and Rainbow

It's difficult when we have to make a sympathy card. I wanted to make a cheery Sympathy card for someone who passed away just before Christmas. He had a long battle with cancer and would always bounce back after each bout of chemotherapy. This card is to celebrate his life and his final release from all the suffering. I was reading Nicole Heady's blog on PTI's Make it Monday and knew this is what I wanted to make. I've used colours from HA's mid tone inks to match the rainbow set number 6 as I do not have any PTI inks. I'm also entering this card to Moxie Fab World's Make a Background challenge. Cardstock - Neenah Solar White, green card stock

Inks - HA Midtone Inks: Pool, Butter Bar, Green Fields, Bubble Gum and Stone Wash

Farewell for Rose

The only challenge for this card is what and how. I often make A4 sized cards for people at work. Rose has been with us since 1979 and she had a personal tragedy this year followed by news of a terminal illness. She has decided to leave us after so many years at work. I decided to find a paper that had beautiful roses to match her name and go from there. As I didn't want this to be a 'Farewell' card as such, as we do want to see her again, I decided to use the Technique Tuesday - Talking in circles stamp set for the sentiment. It did not take me long to pick the appropriate words. We had a farewell lunch for her yesterday. When she saw the sentiment, she looked at me and said 'Thank You, the words are perfect!' They reflected how she sees life at the moment, day to day.

I thought I would also include another card made two months ago for Rose again - this was an A4 Sympathy card for Rose. I wanted this to be a cheery card, so I added bright yellow ribbons to the card. Thank you for dropping by.
