Happy Mother's Day!

Here is one of three Mother's Day card I made this year! This was inspired by the recent UooUoo Art Trail with 100 UooUoo's painted by artists in Melbourne for the celebration of 150 year anniversary for the Royal Children's Hospital. They were scattered all over Melbourne and Geelong and I managed to photographed some of them. This one was my favourite and was the inspiration for this card! This card is for a special lady - my Mum!

Always there

It’s been a while since I’ve crafted. I recently attended an Altenew workshop in Melbourne with Tasnim and Therese! Yes, it was in Melbourne!! I purchased this set whilst I was there. The inks were part of a set that was given to us as part of the workshop. I based the card on the current CAS(E) this sketch challenge (there are three score lines behind the flowers which is hard to photograph). Thanks for dropping by!

Paper Couture

I was lucky to be given a front row seat at the recent launch of the Melbourne Spring Fashion Week. I went with a friend and we were also given two VIP Bar passes. We arrived an hour early so that we can check out the VIP Bar beforehand. The venue for the launch was at the Melbourne Town Hall. When we were shown to the VIP Bar area, I noticed a vase of beautiful white paper flowers and commented on them. Our Hostess then asked if we would like to see more. We were shown into the Portico Room (this is a historical room that leads out to the Balcony of the Town Hall, many stars have been on this Balcony over the years including the Beatles when they were given the key to the city back in the 60's). This room has been converted into the Hospitality Room for MSFW. The decorator for this room is none other than Cristina Re (she is paper stationery designer) - I'm a big fan of her papers and have used them in the past. She has decorated the whole room and the Balcony area with just WHITE PAPER - dresses, hats, flowers and also her signature tea sets. As we were there at night, the items from the Balcony were all inside this room. I took some photos, close ups as I was interested in all the intricate details. I later found a link on her blog. Here are my photos and I have also included a couple of shots from the parade, which we thoroughly enjoyed later in the night.

More WCMD2012 cards

Just popping back again with a couple of cards that were rejected by the recent Papercraft submission. I thought I would just submit them to the WCMD2012 challenge before it closes soon. The first card was  based on a sketch as part of the submission. The second card was a monochrome card made with stamping with the one colour. Both cards are below and their details are included. I'm also submitting the second card to Simon Says Stamp's Dies and/or Punches challenge, the current Hero Arts October sketch challenge and the CAS challenge at A Blog Named Hero. Thanks for dropping by!

Carlos Miele Inspired

I'm glad I got to play with Runway Inspired Challenge #17 this week. I wanted to combine with some sketch challenges but couldn't get my head around them. So I ditched the sketches and went with what came naturally. Happy with the result in the end. As I used Hero Arts stamps, I think it is CAS enough (lots of white space) for the August challenge. The Carlos Miele Resort inspiration from RIC#17 is below. I'm going to go to Sydney this weekend and will not post again until next week, thanks for dropping by!

Pink Blooms

I'm making this card for my niece's Confirmation in over a week's time. I wanted something in pink and lots of flowers. I've been inspired by Kristina Werner's card to use a flower punch on pink vellum. I've based the card on this month's Hero Arts sketch. It didn't take me that long to punch out all the flowers whilst watching TV, it was fun sticking down all the flowers! I would definitely try and do this again! Thanks for dropping by - hope my niece likes the card!

I'm so inspired by so many pretty cards posted over the last few weeks. One challenge caught my attention - CAS-ual Fridays' Black challenge. I've never tried making a black card before! I based my card on another Hero Arts idol - Shari Carroll. She posted a card a few months ago and I pinned it on my Pinterest Board. Her card is the inspiration for mine.

The ever so inspiring Shari is on the top right of the bottom photo.
