Published!

Hi All! I finally received my Card Creations magazine last week and also bought a copy of Australian Simply Cards from the local Newsagent. I love my first ever Paper Crafts Special Issue Magazine - all the photos inside are beautifully taken and there are two photos per page. My card entitled 'Beautiful Birthday' can be found on page 32 of Card Creations. I feel so honoured to be published along side some great names in the industry! Here is my card (I had to check all the fine print whether or not it can be blogged, and I also wanted to wait until I got the magazine).

The other magazine is Australian Simply Cards, issue 53. Last year, I picked up a magazine from the Newsagent with the intention of finding out how I can submit cards for publication. Instead I submitted 3 cards (Embellishments, Tools and Templates and Stamping Categories) for a Cardmaker of the Year Competition and came Runner Up. I'm still waiting for my prize worth $300 to arrive.
Don't forget to leave a comment on my One Year Blogversary Blog for a chance to win some prizes, you have until Easter Sunday to comment. I will draw a random winner on Easter Monday!

Lil's Birthday

After going to the Paperific Expo yesterday, I was dying to come home to make more cards. The creative juices are on overdrive and need to release them by making some cards! I have a male and a female birthday card to post. The male one will be posted after Monday just in case he snoops.... The female card first. I've recently purchased the MFT Die-Namics mini roses die. I had a few failed attempts at making them. The paper ones had too much of a gap in the middle but the felt ones turned out great. I attended a Paper Flower Frenzy class at Paperific yesterday and learned about spraying paper flowers and also making curled flowers. The secret is getting a flower making tool (quilling tool). I got home and tried the tool and every one I made turned out perfect, although it does not work on felt. So here is my card with my first successful curled mini rose! I've used the Mojo Monday sketch again with BG Paper Cottage, this sketch is perfect for the Asymmetry challenge on Moxie Fab World!

I wanted to keep the card black and white with some splashes of colour. I apologise for the photo - taken in the middle of the night. It's a...

I'm on a roll. I've got so many ideas floating in my head on what I want to try. I've made two quick cards tonight after seeing the new Runway Inspired Challenge. The challenge is to make two Baby cards for a Boy and a Girl. I based my card on this week's Retro Sketch challenge. This card is so easy, it does not require stamping, just cutting out and sticking together using my favourite paper collection Basic Grey Paper Cottage which I won from a BG challenge. I also tried out my new MFT Dienamics dies and my new corner rounder punch. The two cards were done in no time!! I'm also submitting these cards into Simon Says Stamp challenge as their July kit contains the same BG collection! Thanks for dropping by!

I'm so inspired by so many pretty cards posted over the last few weeks. One challenge caught my attention - CAS-ual Fridays' Black challenge. I've never tried making a black card before! I based my card on another Hero Arts idol - Shari Carroll. She posted a card a few months ago and I pinned it on my Pinterest Board. Her card is the inspiration for mine.

The ever so inspiring Shari is on the top right of the bottom photo.

Sebastian

I finally found some time since getting back from overseas to whip up a quick card. I've been dying to play with my Basic Grey Scraplift prize - the new Paper Cottage collection. I had a baby card to make for a couple who just had their first baby last weekend. I chose some pretty papers from the collection and made a card with no stamping and used the stickers in the collection for the name. It was a fun and quick card to make. I'm submitting this card for the current Play Date Cafe colour and CAS-ual Friday's Strip challenges. It feels so good to get back into it again, I really missed my craft room!

Challenges:
Play Date Cafe - Challenge #140
CAS-ual Friday - Strip Challenge
Ingredients:
Cardstock - Neenah Natural White
Paper - Basic Grey Paper Cottage collection
Others - Twine from the Twinery

I'm so happy to report that my guest book for my niece's 21st was very well received. There were over 100 people at her party last Friday and the whole book was filled up with signatures and well wishes! Here are some photos of the book:

A photo of my sister and I with Sarah taken at the party. It is very rare that a photo of me gets taken as I am always the unofficial photographers at most functions!
