MFT Guest DT Jan13 Challenge

There has been a lot of chalkboard inspired cards on Pinterest and on various galleries. I have been wanting to try out this technique. This is the original post by Betsy Veldman which started the chalkboard trend. Sounds easy? I thought I'll give it a go with the current MFT Guest DT sketch challenge. It was easy to do, but I didn't have much black smooth paper, hunted high and low and found some! I don't have any vertical sentiments and I had to flip the card around to use the sentiment I wanted to use. I also repeated the bottom of the sentiment and added it to the top to even it off. I'm also entering the card into this week's ColourQ - Challenge 170 (Choose an Colour Palette). I chose cQc #146, although my card does not have a lot of green, the other main colours are there. Anyway here is the result!

This sentiment in this card reflects my thoughts - I'm a dreamer.... One day, it's going to happen... I can craft full time and don't have to work for a living!! ... until my dreams come true... I would love to be a guest DT!! I would love to win $200 worth of MFT products!!

Washi Goodness

I have a slight addiction to washi tape, just can't get enough of it! Last month, I submitted these two cards to the Paperpoint MT Washi tape contest and guess what? I won $100 worth of washi tape!

I would like to share a card I made for a magazine submission that was rejected. The good news is that the other card got accepted! Yay! The flowers in this card was made with decorative tape from MME - I love the effect of diecuts on washi tape! I'm submitting this card to Simon Says Stamp's What's Your Favourite challenge - Washi Tapes and Dies of course!

More WCMD2012 cards

Just popping back again with a couple of cards that were rejected by the recent Papercraft submission. I thought I would just submit them to the WCMD2012 challenge before it closes soon. The first card was  based on a sketch as part of the submission. The second card was a monochrome card made with stamping with the one colour. Both cards are below and their details are included. I'm also submitting the second card to Simon Says Stamp's Dies and/or Punches challenge, the current Hero Arts October sketch challenge and the CAS challenge at A Blog Named Hero. A True Friend

After doing a CAS card last night, I was ready to tackle the MFT Guest DT sketch tonight. I am a big fan of MFT stamps and Die-Namics Die. I sneak in a small order every now and then and wait patiently for it to arrive. I have used some of the dies over and over again for various projects! I recently purchased a set of Favourite Sentiments stamp set from MFT and the Upsy Daisy die. This week's Guest DT sketch was perfect. The challenge sketch is for a DT position at MFT with $200 worth of products! Wow, a chance to play with new MFT products would be a dream come true!!
I also added washi (decorative) tape so that I can enter the card to Simon Say's Stamp's Stamptember challenge. The colours I used were also the Colour Q colours this week! The last challenge is Moxie Fab World - Gallon/Quart/Pint challenge. The Gallon colour is Brown, Quart is Coral Red and Pint is White. See photos of the sketch and colours below the card. Thanks for looking!!
