Wedding in Malaysia

I'm back to share a card I made for a wedding I went to in Malaysia. The groom is a son of good friends of ours. I decided to use diecuts in white, gold and vellum to compose a cluster of two flowers, on a background with sprays of gold and iridescent inks. Thanks for dropping by!

Stencil Water Colour Background

I'm trying a new technique (for me) using water colours and a stencil. I was inspired by Betsy Veldman on the recent MIM challenge to make this card. I don't have many PTI stencils and decided to use one from the Garden Gate kit. As the watercolour panel was quite big, I was able to make two cards with it.  Here they are! Thanks for dropping by!

Materials:
Stamps - PTI A Sweet Life
Stencil - PTI Garden Gate kit
Inks - PTI Simply Charteuse and Pinfeather, Altenew Blush, Rouge and Ruby Red
Paper - Neenah Desert Storm, Arches Watercolour card

A wedding card

I have a wedding card to share using the current Muse challenge. The background rectangle was dry embossed and edged with embossing powder. The stamps are from Altenew. I'm also adding this to Virginia's View Challenge - #24 Focal Point. Thanks for dropping by!

My Simon Says Stamp May kit finally arrived today and I couldn't wait to make a card with the goodies inside. I've made this card by stamping the background with the stamp set and ink that comes with the kit. I'd also added a bit of HA Pale Tomato and gold embossing. PTI March Blog Hop

I had a day off work today to get over a cold. I ended up doing housework, packing and labeling my craft items I'm taking with me on a Craft Retreat this weekend. I then realized that I have not made a card yet for the PTI March Blog Hop. So out comes the stamps, dies and ink I had packed! Here is my card using my new PTI Make-it Market kit. This kit is ideal for the theme of the March blog hop - High Gloss! The only extra piece not in the kit is the MT tape.  I'm really looking forward to this weekend, so no more cards until the Retreat! Thanks for dropping by!!

Fusion Card Challenge #5

It's been a little while since my last post. I've been busy with a lot of other activities in my life and blogging ends up at the bottom of the pile! I have got a Chinese wedding card to share using my favourite Hero Arts stamps again. I've done so many versions of these stamps, I've lost count. They are my favourite stamps for Chinese weddings! The design of the card is based on the current Fusion Challenge sketch. The wave at the bottom (although the bow covers it) is done with the Memory box Modern Landscape Border die (flipped). Looking forward to a wedding this weekend! Thanks for dropping by!

A Daughter's Wedding

This card is an order for a friend's wedding. The only specification was that the sentiment had to be 'To our daughter and son-in-law'. I printed the sentiment on card stock and die cut with the SSS folded banner. I used heavy card stock for the embossing before adhering onto the folded square card. The flower was cut with the normal card stock and heavy weight vellum and adhered onto the embossed background with dimensional foam. The theme of the wedding is turquoise, so I decided to added a little resin flower in the middle. The folded banner at the bottom of the card finished it all very nicely! My friend was very happy with the card, hope her daughter and son-in-law like it too!

Inspired by Jennifer McGuire

Jennifer McGuire showed this really cool technique on her blog a few weeks ago. I have a few wedding cards to make, so I thought I would give it a go. The biggest sentiment I have belongs to a PTI stampset Big Wishes which I have used over and over again and it was just perfect for this technique. I initially embossed in white on white card.... well it didn't look that good... so I switched to silver EP and Voila, here is my card! The deckled edges are also embossed. I'm going to be off the blogging radar for a little while as I'm going overseas and then coming back for Chinese New Year. I'm involved in a lot of Chinese community events over the two weeks of Chinese New Year, so I will try and get to my craft room whenever I can.

Neenah Solar white, PTI Big Wishes, Lovely Layers and Happiness in Blooms, Versamark, Hero Arts Bubblegum, Passionflower, Soft Granite, Green Hills and Pool, Memento Luxe Dandelion, Pearls from Kaisercraft and decorative ribbon.

Feathers Wedding Card!

I have a few weddings coming up and when I saw this sketch on CAS(E) this Sketch, I knew what I wanted to do. I white embossed the WPlus9 Fanciful Feathers stamp on vellum and fussy cut the two feathers (I don't have the die). I then decided to use a cream card stock rather than a white as the white on feather looked yellow against the white card. I also embossed the edge and sentiment in gold and added a strip of wash tape. I'm adding this card to Stamploration's January Feathers Challenge. Thanks for dropping by!

Ingredients:
Neenah Natural White and Solar White, Vellum, MT Tape, White and Gold Embossing Powder, Versamark, WPlus9 Fanciful Feathers and Fresh Cut Florals and gold ribbon.

Blackboard Wedding Cards

I'm getting back into some crafting as I'm way behind with some of the cards I need to get to before starting on the Christmas cards. I decided to use the same technique for two wedding cards I needed to do. Typical me, I originally wanted the two cards to be the same, I then changed my mind halfway through and made them both different. Would love to know which one you prefer and why. Here are my two cards and they are for the following challenges:
- Muse #44 - Marion Vagg
- Paper Crafts November Challenge - Sequins (second card)
- CAS-ual Fridays - Create with 8 (8 sequins in the second card)

Muse #44 - Marion Vagg
Ingredients:
Neenah Solar White and Desert Storm, black card stock, Paper Smooches Hubey and Wifey and Sentiment Sampler, Versamark, White and Gold EP, Basic Grey Cut and Paste, White Chalk ink, white gel pen and gold sequins.

Two Wedding Cards

Here are a couple of wedding cards that I have made that I have not posted yet. One is for an Asian couple and the other an Aussie couple, so both are quite different. For the Asian couple, I used my favourite Hero Arts Asian Dolls (these were my first HA stamps) and this time, I tried colouring their faces for the very first time. I usually use cream card stock so that I don't have to colour their faces.

The second card was made a while ago for a publication submission. This was made by stamping the rose on three different pattened papers and pieced together afterwards. I just love this rose stamp and I have made a few cards with this stamp. It's World Cardmaking day today, but I've been too busy with household duties to make any cards. I am enjoying all the beautiful cards posted today on all the Blog Hops around the world! Happy WCMD everyone!!

Nautical Wedding

I had the most wonderful time at my colleague's wedding yesterday. She married an Naval Officer and of course there was a nautical theme to the whole wedding from the wedding invitation to the dress code and the gifts for guests. Some of my blog followers would have seen the Nautical wedding card I made for the beautiful couple. I wrapped the presents which came in three parts with the same Nautical theme. To make them all match, I made some gift tags to match the card. Here are my gift wrapped presents which I'm going to link this to Paper Smooches Sparks Anything Goes challenge and Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes.

Published in CARDS July 2013

As it has been a month since my card was published in CARDS July issue and the August issue is now out, I'm allowed to show my card online. I still don't have a copy of the magazine, but can see an online version of it. This card was submitted to the wedding category for the submission call. I love the photo they have taken for the magazine page! At the time, I had just received my PTI 'Lovely Layers' stampset and dies and I combined it with my favourite papers from Pink Paislee. Sadly, I don't have much of the papers left as I made quite a few cards out of the 6x6 pack! I also have another card in the current August issue of CARDS in the Sketch category, I will share details next month.
Did anyone notice that I got another mention on the Paper Smooches Sparks blog for this card submitted for the Picture Perfect challenge? I'm having so much fun with my new PS stamps! Thanks for dropping by!
