Alcohol Inks

I spent an one Saturday afternoon playing around with alcohol inks on Yupo paper and ended up with a big stash of goodies for making a card. I had to make some masculine birthday cards on the weekend and it was great using this stash. Here are two I made with two different backgrounds. I used a black cardstock to off-set the silver 'Happy' die cut and then popped them up on foam tape. I'm adding this to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Pop It Up! Thanks for dropping by!

A masculine tag card

I've made some masculine tag cards last weekend on a crafting day at a friend's house. The great thing about crafting with friends is trying out their stash! There were a few of us madly die cutting this great set from Tim Holtz - Scribbles and Splat. Our host kindly passed everyone three tags and I thought it would be great to combine the die cuts with the tag for a masculine card. (I never seem to have enough!) I'm adding this card to Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Masculine and Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes. Thanks for dropping by!

I have a really quick masculine card for the recent Fusion Card challenge. I must make some more along these lines as I don't tend to have many masculine cards in my stash! I love the navy stripes in this new Kaisercraft range. I've had a busy weekend making some cards, so I'll have more to share later. Thanks for dropping by!

Paper - Kaisercraft High Tide
Dies - MFT Blueprints 3
Stamp - Hero Arts

70th Birthday

I'm back with a really CAS masculine 70th birthday card. I was invited by Lyndal last weekend for a Crafty catch up at her place. There were 8 of us crowded around her dining room table and it was a fun day. One of the ladies brought along a book cover vinyl she had purchased from Kmart. A few of us had a go with die cutting the vinyl and I brought some leftovers home to make this card! I've got to go to Kmart to get some more. They will be great for Christmas cards!! I'm adding this card to Paper Smooches Guest Designer Challenge.

Materials used:
Neenah card, ME Happy Die, PS tag and digits stampset and dies, Kaisercraft glitter tape

100% Stamped Birthday Card!

I re-visited a card I made over two years ago with some additional new stamps. I also used my trusty MISTI for this card and made two at the same time. I positioned all the stamps first and stamped a template before stamping them with the individual colours. The blank spaces were filled up the tiny stamps that come with some of the stamp sets I used. The inks and most of the stamp sets are from Hero Arts with one stamp set from Paper Smooches. I just love mixing the fonts and colours and because it is 100% stamped, I'm adding this to Virginia View's current challenge. Thanks for dropping by!

Masculine Birthday Cards

Back again with a couple of cards I made on our Crafting WCMD weekend using borrowed stamps from Lyndal and Jenny. The first one is made with Hero Arts stamps and the second with Mama Elephant sentiment stamp. This first card is for the Mixed Media Vintage Challenge.

This second card is for someone younger. A bit of stencilling with and embossing with my newest favourite EP from Ranger. This platinum colour was out of stock for a long time and I finally got a jar of it at last! Now I understand why Jennifer McGuire love it!! The sentiment is from Mama Elephant and I'm adding this card to ME's October Anything Goes challenge and Virginia's View Challenge - Clean and Simple.
Thanks for dropping by!

Masculine Happy 50th

This is a fun birthday card I made for my not-so-much-younger-than-me-brother who turned 50 last week. I've been having fun with my new PTI Happy liner die! It was fiddly getting the alphabets in a different colour, but I'm happy with the result! I'm putting this card into Paper Smooches Sparks Anything Goes Challenge and also into the PS April Guest Designer Search. I've got a few photos to share that I took at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne today. I found it very hard to take a good photo!

Ingredients
Cardstock – Neenah Solar White and Desert Storm, Black Cardstock
Dies – Paper Smooches Digits and Leaf, PTI Sale Tag and Happy, Simon Says Stamps Stars
Stamp - Paper Smooches Digits
Embellishments –Hemp and cord from Hemptique

First Fusion Card for 2014

It's so nice to see Fusion Card Challenge back again with two fellow Melbournians on the Design Team! I have a few male birthday cards to make this month and I was struggling with the sketch until I found an A3 sheet of wood veneer paper (perfect for a person who works with wood)! I also used DCWV adhesive mat stack card stock, so handy having an adhesive backing for the wood veneer and the mat card stock! I use die cuts from three different MFT DieNamics Dies for the name, and I had to tilt the 'O' so that they all fit! The lovely hemp cord was bought locally at a pop up shop which normally sells online. I bought it for $8 before Christmas. The same shop sold it for $1 each after Christmas and I missed out, boohoo!! I'm also adding this card to Addicted to CAS#29 - Diecuts.
Thanks for dropping by!

Ingredients
Neenah Solar White, DCWV Adhesive Mat Stack, Wood veneer, HeroArts CL661 and Midtone Navy, Fiskars tag punch, MFT DieNamics Tall alphabets and Numbers and Hemp cord from Hemptique.

WCMD 2013

This has been a crazily busy weekend for me. I managed to make four cards during the week for Paper Crafts Magazine submissions which were uploaded last night. World Card Making Day was yesterday in Australia and I spent the day doing domestic duties as I am out all day today! With any luck, I may make another card when I get home tonight. I would like to share a card I made a little while back inspired by one of the cards from the Online Card Classes. This card was made with a combination of sentiment stamps from Hero Arts and Paper Smooches and I am submitting this to the PS Sparks Anything Goes challenge and Moxie Fab World's Colour Media Challenge.. Happy WCMD! Enjoy the weekend!

A Masculine Card

A bit of exciting news, my previous card made for CASE Study Challenge 159 made Top 3! Yay! For the CASE study challenges in September, I managed a Win with this card and two Top 3 (link to the first one). I've had fun casing Kathy Racoosin, a great artist!
I have a few masculine birthdays this month and I can't use all those floral cards that I have made! When I saw the sketch on Retro Sketches this week, I thought I would use this sketch to churn out a few masculine cards. Here is my first card made with Hero Arts stamps and my favourite go-to-colour for a man - Navy. I decided to score the edges of the flap with my Martha Stewart scoring board. This was a really quick and easy card to make! I'm also submitting this card to Simon Says Stamp's Going Dotty challenge. Thanks for dropping by!
