AECP Workshop with Handmade by Michelle

I would like to thank Michelle Lupton (Handmade by Michelle) for inspiring to make some rainbow cards for her Altenew Educator Certification Program. I used a different stampset as I have recently made a huge purchase during Christmas. I have cards that I made on her workshop below. It was fun joining in online and craft along! It was a lot of fun! I have also made variations of the card which I will share in the next post.

Farewell card for Sue

I have a watercolour card to share. A long time friend at work just retired last week after 43 years of service! I made this A4 sized card on the one night as we had just over a week to collect signatures and messages from staff at work. I decided to use the largest flower bouquet I have from Simon Says Stamp and heat embossed with Altenew Rose Gold powder. The flowers and background with coloured with Zig markers and distress ink. The photos I took were with my phone camera as I was in a rush to get to work the next morning! Thanks for dropping by!

Rose Filament Birthday

I have another card to share. I used the Altenew Rose Filament dies and traced the outlines onto watercolour card stock. I loosely coloured them with the Altenew Pan set and then diecut the shapes. Then the fun part, arranging them in the background of the card and then die cutting the rectangle shape. Some sentiments added and it was done! I'm adding this to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes.

Materials
Dies - Altenew Rose Filament, Winnie and Walter and Lil Inkers
Stamp - Altenew

September Inspiration

It's been a while since I've blogged. So to make up for the long absence, I made a series of cards last weekend as I'm running out of birthday cards! Yes, it has finally caught up with me! I decided to try a cotton blend water colour card for the flowers which were stamped in black and loosely water coloured with my new Altenew Pan set. The background was inked with stencils and then splattered with more paint. The flowers were splattered with white paint from my Gansai Tambi water colours. Thanks for dropping by!

Blue Hydrangeas

After seeing a few blue cards posted recently, I was inspired to do one as well. This card was made with Distress Inks on water colour card. I wanted to colour in the negative space as there is a fair bit of detailing on the stamp which I wanted to leave untouched. I've also inlaid a die cut from Winnie and Walter. I'm adding this card to the current A Blog Named Hero Florals challenge with Winnie & Walter. Thanks for dropping by!

Stamps - Hero Arts and Winnie & Walter
Inks - Distress Inks Chipped Sapphire and Broken China, Hero Arts Navy

When I saw the inspiration photo for the PTI Blog Hop, I knew what I had to do! Here is my interpretation of the photo. I stamped the main image twice on watercolour paper and then applied water! Watercolour Dahlia

I'm back with another card using the Hero Arts Artistic Dahlia stamp. Lots of masking created this background of flowers on watercolour card. Only two colours were applied with Zig markers to create this lightly washed effect. I'm adding this to this month's A Blog Named Hero's May Watercolour Challenge. Thank you for dropping by!

Stencil Water Colour Background

I'm trying a new technique (for me) using water colours and a stencil. I was inspired by Betsy Veldman on the recent MIM challenge to make this card. I don't have many PTI stencils and decided to use one from the Garden Gate kit. As the watercolour panel was quite big, I was able to make two cards with it.  Here they are! Thanks for dropping by!

Materials:
Stamps - PTI A Sweet Life
Stencil - PTI Garden Gate kit
Inks - PTI Simply Charteuse and Pinfeather, Altenew Blush, Rouge and Ruby Red
Paper - Neenah Desert Storm, Arches Watercolour card

Colour Crush

As mentioned in a previous blog, I attended the Paperific Expo on the weekend. I sometimes book a class and as it was a last minute decision to go, I didn't intend to attend a class. As it turned out, there was an available spot in one of the mixed media classes on watercolours. I have two cards to share that I made at the class with Beck BT using the Tinby Color Crush powders. Here are the cards I made using the Indigoblu butterfly stamp, with diluted ink brushed onto the stamp, first and second generation. I'm linking up to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - It's Hip to be Square.

Materials used:
Colours - Tinby Designs Color Crush powders
Stamps - Indigoblu stamps, Winnie and Walter sentiment
Dies - Winnie and Walter sentiment, Lil Inkers Stitched squares

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the crafty Mums! I have a card to share for the current Fusion Card Challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Mother's Day/Flowers challenge on Flickr. The stamped images from Simon Says Stamp were coloured with Distress Inks (Tumbled Glass, Candied Apple, Mowed Lawn and Spiced Marmalade) on watercolour card. The inspiration is based on the Fusion sketch and colours. Hope you all have a great day! Thanks for dropping by!!

Antique Rose for Mother's Day

I've been wanting to try this watercolour technique for quite a while now. I stamped my Hero Arts Antique Rose stamp with Distress Ink Antique Linen onto water colour paper and coloured in with distress inks. I made two cards at the same time just in case one did not turn out. The sentiment die cut is from Winnie and Walter. Well I think that both were OK and I decided to use both of them.  I was inspired by this week's Muse Challenge. Thanks for dropping by!
