Musing Anita Bowden

When I saw Anita Bowden's card in the current Muse Challenge, it reminded me of a technique I had not used for quite a while. I inked up random spots on the card with distress inks Scattered Straw and Abandon Coral before embossing with some flowers. I then inked up the spaces between the flowers with Peeled paint and added more embossed flowers and leaves before revealing them with the last layer of Wilted Violet and Seedless Preserve. Layered Orchid

I had been eyeing off this stampset for a while now and was delighted when I finally got it last week. I couldn't wait to ink it up. I experimented with different colours and decided to use this week's Muse challenge as an inspiration for this card. Both the stampset and sentiment are from Hero Arts. Christmas Trees

I'm adding another Christmas card to my very small stack of cards so far! This is for a few challenges. The design is based on the current Retro Sketch #141, the inspiration is from Muse Challenge #101 (Marion Vagg) , the concept is for the Moxie Fab World Challenge - Tree-mendous Trees and since I'm using a Simon Says Stamp die, I'm adding this to the Flickr Group Challenge#6. When I saw Jacquie as the Muse this week on Muse Challenge #61, I had a birthday card in mind to do. At our Craft Retreat two weekends ago, each of us were given a little gift bag of goodies from Joy Taylor. We were given so much stuff that weekend, I did not have a proper chance to look at what she gave us. Inside the bag was an assortment of Hero Arts cards and the colours were so yummy, I could not waste an entire card on one card. I decided to die cut them to make them into a birthday card. Of course, I couldn't stop at one card, I made another one at the same time! The colours were based on this week's Color Countdown colours. Thanks for dropping by!

Casing Lyndal

I've just come back from a 4 day Craft retreat with 10 other awesome crafters. One of the cards I wanted to make was the current Muse challenge. I'm also adding this card to the Winnie and Walter's Playdate No 1 challenge as the background paper goes well with the inspirational photo, the current STAMPlorations Stamps and Spring challenge and Moxie Fab World's Styling with Stencil challenge. Two of us at the retreat made cards for the Muse challenge and we were very lucky to have Lyndal, the actual Muse with us at the Retreat! We shared a lot of our craft collections on the weekend and I borrowed this stencil and the Winnie & Walter stamp set from Lyndal to make this card. Casing Virginia Lu

When I saw the Muse Challenge this week with Virginia Lu as the muse, I wanted to make a card as soon as I got home! I started stamping while I was cooking dinner (the dinner wasn't burnt - it has happened in the past). Here is my card and Virginia's card is below that.
