More WCMD2012 cards

Just popping back again with a couple of cards that were rejected by the recent Papercraft submission. I thought I would just submit them to the WCMD2012 challenge before it closes soon. The first card was  based on a sketch as part of the submission. The second card was a monochrome card made with stamping with the one colour. Both cards are below and their details are included. I'm making this card for my niece's Confirmation in over a week's time. I wanted something in pink and lots of flowers. I've been inspired by Kristina Werner's card to use a flower punch on pink vellum. I've based the card on this month's Hero Arts sketch. It didn't take me that long to punch out all the flowers whilst watching TV, it was fun sticking down all the flowers! I would definitely try and do this again! Thanks for dropping by - hope my niece likes the card!

Inspired by Jennifer McGuire

I'm getting itchy fingers as I have not crafted for a while and I have so many new stamps, inks and dies to try out. I have been dying to try out my new Tim Holtz Distress Markers. The current challenge at A Blog Named Hero is to make a card inspired by a Hero Arts Artist. One of my inspirations is Jennifer McGuire and she tested these markers before most of us could even get our hands on it!  This is my card using all the colours in the pack (excluding black and white) inspired by Jennifer's card. The card was white embossed with the HA/Studio Calico lattice stamp and coloured with Distress markers. The card was sprayed with Perfert pearls mist. I love the marbled effects when the inks reacted with the water. The beauty about the lattice stamp is that each colour is contained within each pattern, so there is no bleeding. I added white embossed vellum flowers to the card so that I can submit this card for the Hero Arts Paper Flowers Challenge. I'm also submitting this card to the Moxie Fab World Card Challenge!

Spring Flowers in Autumn!

We had a sunny and warm Autumn weekend in Melbourne on the weekend.  I wanted to tackle the third HA April sketch - the one with a tag. I also love the colours of the current Play Date Cafe Challenge - Daffodil...Hydrangea...Kiwi...Cherry and decided to combine the two.

This card gave me the opportunity to use my new HA stamp sets (Four Flowers and Be Happy) and also the lovely new papers from the Basic Grey Picadilly collection. The washi tape (yes, I need to mention that my sister got it from Japan...) made an appearance too. All colour elements in the Play Date Cafe 127 are present. Thanks for dropping by!
