Baby it’s cold outside

We are at the start of Summer in Melbourne and just in the last two weeks, we’ve had a cold snap with lots of rain and windy days! I’ve had fun in mass producing some really easy Christmas cards using the Simon Says Stamp Stamptember release of the Tim Holtz stamps. The huge Glorious Gatherings stamp is so large, I’ve managed to create two cards with the one stamp. I also love all the Christmas sentiments which came with the set. I’m adding this to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Baby it’s cold outside!

Ingredients:
Stamps - Tim Holts Glorious Gatherings and 2018 Stamptember
Inks - Hero Arts ombré inks, Altenew
Others - Hero Arts gold and silver EP, Kuretake Gansai Tambi paints

CTS 297

I had fun making these really quick Christmas cards. The first one was based on a sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch challenge. I decided to use my new Tim Holtz stamps for this challenge. I stamped the image around 3-4 times using my Misti with two shades of inks. The sentiment was gold embossed and background splatters were made with the same ink and gold watercolour ink. The second card was made with the image cut out, mounted on gold card stock and dimensional foam added. I ended up making 6 of the second card! Thanks for dropping by!

Materials:
Stamps:Tim Holtz Stamptember 2018 and Glorious Gatherings
Dies: Hero Arts Infinity Rectangles
Inks: Altenew Frayed Leaf and Evergreen, Kuretake Gansai Tambi ink and gold EP

November Inspiration

Back with another Inspiration challenge from Altenew. As I do not have any Altenew Christmas stamps, I decided to use small stamps from a combination of stamp sets to make a wreath. As I was using the Misti and rotating the stamps, the first one was round and the others turned out squarish! As it was so much fun to produce multiple cards with the Misti, I made a series of 6 cards in the one session with gold and silver embossed sentiment. I still have a lot more Christmas cards to make! Thanks for dropping by!

Challenge:

Materials:
Stamps - Altenew Lacy Scrolls, Bride to Be and Lyrical Script
Ink - Altenew Crimson, Parrot and Moss, Silver and Gold EP, Kuretake Gansai Tambi paints
Others - Kaisercraft gems

CTS296

I've kick started my Christmas card making with a series of 5 cards based on the current CAS(E) this Sketch challenge. Just imagine the sketch upside down... perfect as a Christmas tree! I adhered patterned paper to Neenah card stock and cut strips of same sizes. They were then trimmed to various lengths and foam tape was added to each strip. The assembly was fun and the gold star finished off the tree nicely. This is a great way of using left over patterned paper! Thanks for dropping by!

Materials:
Paper - Kaisercraft Mint Wishes
Stamps - Concord and 9th, Tim Holtz Glorious Gatherings

More Washi Fun!

I have another series of cards I made with my new Altenew washi tape stash. These were so easy to make. I adhered the tapes to Neenah card stock and fussy cut them whilst watching TV (I can never be idle watching TV, I'm either knitting or crafting). Assembling them was fun and I added some adhesive foam tape to some to add some dimension. Please find my previous blogpost on a similar technique on different washi tapes. Thanks for dropping by!

Altenew washi tapes - Glitter Flurries, Gilded Ombre and Golden Edge

Christmas Challenge with Michelle

Hi everyone! I'm most excited to share a card for my crafty friend Michelle from Handmade by Michelle. She asked me to pick a Christmas challenge for her. I didn't have to think long to pick something that will be challenging for someone who is so good with water colours and alcohol inks! My challenge is to make a Christmas card with patterned paper! Here is the link to Michelle's challenge card and below is the card I made with patterned paper from Kaisercraft Mint Wishes. This was last year's collection but I loved it so much, I bought more after Christmas when they were on sale! I'm also in love with this new stamp from Tim Holtz, love the details in this image! Thank you Michelle for getting me started on my Christmas card!! Looking forward to the rest of the challenges! I'm also adding this to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - Anything Goes challenge.

Materials:
Stamp - Tim Holtz Glorious Gatherings
Paper - Kaisercraft Mint Wishes
Ink - Distress Ink Gathered Twigs
