Floral Bliss

I had some masking fun with an old set from Simon Says Stamp on the weekend. The current WednesdaySSS challenge is to use something old with something new. I've had this stampset since 2017 and have used it a few times. The something new with using Distress Oxides for the blended backgrounds. Love how strong the colours looked against the image. Thanks for dropping by!

I decided to use the largest flower bouquet I have from Simon Says Stamp and heat embossed with Altenew Rose Gold powder. The flowers and background with coloured with Zig markers and distress ink. The photos I took were with my phone camera as I was in a rush to get to work the next morning! Thanks for dropping by!

WCMD Challenge 2018-1

I had a busy weekend for World Card Making Day. I managed to squeeze in a couple of cards. This one is for a 60th Wedding celebration. I decided to use my newly acquired Simon Says Stamp October kit stamp for the background image of an A5 sized card. I then stamped the sentiment and die cut out the numbers. I used several coats of clear embossing powder to create a lovely finish on the numbers. I'd also layered the numbers on a stack of gold cardstock. Happy WCMD!!

Altenew March Challenge

Since starting to work full time (well, two part time jobs) last week, I've found it hard to find time to make cards again. I have a few wedding cards to make so I spent a bit of time on it this weekend. I used the inspiration photo from the Altenew March challenge to make this card. I used the Altenew Vintage flowers stamp set, Simon Says Stamp stencil and sentiment from Papertrey Ink to put it all together. The inks I used were - Hero Arts Passion Flower and Bubblegum, Ranger Wild Orchid, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Mowed Lawn and Ranger Archival Jet Black. I'm also adding this card to the Simon Says Stamp March Flickr challenge - Anything Goes!
Thank you for joining me!

Some vintage cards

I was inspired to use the current Retro Sketch to make a Christmas card. I ended up making 4 cards using the same patterned paper (MME Vintage Christmas) and MT Washi tape. The background stamp is from Hero Arts and the sentiment stamp is from Simon Says Stamp. These were quick and fun to make!

Wood Veneer Card

This card was made during our Craft Retreat a few months ago and I have not had a chance to blog it yet (along with a few more yet to be finished cards!). When I saw the Wood challenge on CASology, I knew this was the ONE! Just before I went on the Retreat, I purchased some Australian themed MT tape. The one used here features an Aboriginal design and it was just what I needed to add some colour to the card. I must thank Joy Taylor for the use of her Simon Says Stamp Dies for this card and also for showing me how to glue multiple layers of die cuts. The sentiment has 5 layers of card stock under the wood veneer. I'm also adding this card to SSS Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge. I'm also trying out the InLinkz thumbnails for the first time, any hints will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for dropping by!!

9 Days Til Christmas

Yay, all my Christmas shopping is done, but only some wrapped (the ones that are going out this week). The trees in our street have all been 'bowed'. Every year, two sections of our street are decorated with red bows on every tree. My neighbour down the road started this tradition a few years ago and he does his side of the street and I do our side. So when you drive down our street, two sections are lined with red bows! I managed to make a whole stack of cards last night, they are quick and easy to make. I decided to use the Simon Says Stamp Holiday kit and used the lovely patterned cards from the kit. Here are some of the cards I made. A clever use of the die cuts meant that I had two cards for every piece of patterned paper! I love the Lil Inkers stitched squares and circles! I'm adding this to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Stamp out 2013.

Ingredients
Neenah Solar White card, Simon Says Stamp Elegant Holiday Card Kit, Lil Inkers Stitched Squares and Stitched Circles Dies,Hero Arts Holiday Cheer Dies,  MT Tape and star rhinestones.

Published in CARDS July 2013

As it has been a month since my card was published in CARDS July issue and the August issue is now out, I'm allowed to show my card online. I still don't have a copy of the magazine, but can see an online version of it. This card was submitted to the wedding category for the submission call. I love the photo they have taken for the magazine page! At the time, I had just received my PTI 'Lovely Layers' stampset and dies and I combined it with my favourite papers from Pink Paislee. Sadly, I don't have much of the papers left as I made quite a few cards out of the 6x6 pack! I also have another card in the current August issue of CARDS in the Sketch category, I will share details next month.
Did anyone notice that I got another mention on the Paper Smooches Sparks blog for this card submitted for the Picture Perfect challenge? I'm having so much fun with my new PS stamps! Thanks for dropping by!

Asian Wedding Dolls

I got out my Hero Arts Asian Dolls stamps for a play today. I used the sketch from Cardabilities and the Basic Grey True Love collection (perfect for an Asian wedding card). Here is my lovely couple dressed in BG True Love! I mixed up stamps from 3 different companies, just for a bit of a change and also because they fell in quite nicely together. I'm also submitting this to Simon Says Stamp's Celebrate challenge. By the way, has anyone seen the August issue of Cards magazine? You can find my sketch card on page 68. Now that the August issue is out, I guess I can show my card from the July issue. I'll do that tomorrow.
Thanks for dropping by!

Ingredients:
Neenah Natural White, Basic Grey True Love 12x12, Hero Arts Asian Dolls, Simon Says Stamp Mom's the Best, PTI Year of the Flowers - Roses, Ranger Archival Jet Black, Hemp from Hemptique, MME Enamel dots, pink marker.
