MFT Guest DT Jan13 Challenge

There has been a lot of chalkboard inspired cards on Pinterest and on various galleries. I have been wanting to try out this technique. This is the original post by Betsy Veldman which started the chalkboard trend. Sounds easy? I thought I'll give it a go with the current MFT Guest DT sketch challenge. It was easy to do, but I didn't have much black smooth paper, hunted high and low and found some! I don't have any vertical sentiments and I had to flip the card around to use the sentiment I wanted to use. I also repeated the bottom of the sentiment and added it to the top to even it off. I'm also entering the card into this week's ColourQ - Challenge 170 (Choose an Colour Palette). I chose cQc #146, although my card does not have a lot of green, the other main colours are there. Anyway here is the result!

This sentiment in this card reflects my thoughts - I'm a dreamer.... One day, it's going to happen... I can craft full time and don't have to work for a living!! ... until my dreams come true... I would love to be a guest DT!! I would love to win $200 worth of MFT products!!

MFT Guest DT Sketch

I've been gradually acquiring stamps and dies from My Favourite Things. I've been dying to try out the Christmas Ornaments dies and the current MFT Guest DT Sketch 112 is perfect for them! The great incentive is the $200 prize from MFT and also Guest DT. I wanted to keep this card CAS and use some of the techniques I learnt from the Online Holiday Card Workshop. The snowflakes were done with a technique shown by Julie Erbersole in Day 2 and the ornaments were inked with two distress inks with a spray of perfect pearls. I've entered my cards to the MFT DT sketch challenge before, the talent pool is so great that I am always in awe of some of the work represented. It would be great to win this challenge one day - think of all the MFT dies on my wishlist that I can purchase! It would also be an honour and privilege to be a DT for MFT! Thank you for dropping by!
