I've been a bit absent lately from the blog world. It's just been too busy the last week with a lot of things all happening at once. Christmas in August?

Is it too early to start on Christmas cards? I guess it is never too early to start so that there is no mad rush towards December! There is a Christmas card challenge at Moxie Fab World and I would like to submit some cards that I have made. These never made it for a publication call. Yes I know, for every card that gets published, there are some that never made it to fame and glory. Never mind, they will get showcased here! Christmas Squares

Well, what a busy weekend with the 24 hour scramble! Thank you to everyone for all the lovely comments on my blog and Flickr account. A big welcome to my new followers on the blog and twitter! I was a bit tired after participating in 6 scrambles and hosting one myself. I cleaned up my Craft desk and floor yesterday and did not make any more cards....... Well, you can't keep me away for very long. I wanted to submit a card to the Moxie Fab World Square Punch challenge. I do not have a square punch but used a square die from the Spellbinders Nestabilities set instead. I have done a square punch challenge before when I didn't have any dies, it is damn hard to card a small square with the equipment I have! Here is my card - my tally is now 23 Christmas cards, Yay!!

Retro Christmas

I'm glad that I am starting early this year with the Christmas cards! I couldn't resist trying out the Retro Sketch this week - it is so whimsical. I had problems with finding the right sized baubles as all my bauble stamps are too large for the sketch. I finally pulled out my Kaisercraft Turtle Dove 6x6 pads and found the baubles in there. They come already coated and so there is not much I needed to add to them. I also had a packet of matching diecuts which I used for the sentiment - there is absolutely no stamping in this card! It was so easy to make!
