Retro Sketch 166
I'm back after a short holiday overseas. I've had to make a card on the weekend I got back for a baby girl. I decided to use the current Retro Sketch #166 and combined it with some lovely paper from Kaisercraft Procelain Rose. I'm also adding this to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes. The stamp sets are from Mama Elephant, Darkroom Door and Hero Arts.

Watercolour Butterflies
Here is a piece of salvaged watercolour reject from yesterday's Hero Arts scramble. I was going to throw the piece away when I noticed that there were lots of unstamped areas I could use. I die cut some small butterflies from the background paper and used the current CAS(E) this sketch for inspiration. The distress colours I used were Broken China, Festive Berries, Seedless Preserve and Chipped Sapphire. I'm also adding this to Virginia's View Layers Challenge and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Happy Birthday challenge. The dies I used were from Hero Arts and MFT and the sentiment is from Darkroom Door. Wine label card 4
Another wine label card to add to my collection. I've made a series of these cards and each one is slightly different. I've made this using distress inks on water colour paper, wetting just the watercolour paper and not the wine label. Love this effect! I'm adding this card to Simon Says Stamp - Make your own background challenge. Thanks for dropping by!

Antonio Marras
When I first saw the Runway Inspired Challenge photo with Antonio Marras Spring 2014, I wanted to make a card straight away. I've had a very busy last two weeks at work with Phase One of a new process going live and lots of trouble shooting afterwards. It's not going to get any lighter as we have Phase Two going live next week. So I wanted to make this card so that I don't miss out. I used my new Hero Arts/Basic Grey Floral Blossoms stamp and pulled out an old Darkroom Door Sentiment stamp. I still need to get started on the Christmas cards…. I did however manage to send off three cards to the Australian Simply Cards Cardmaker of the Year 2013 competition! Thanks for dropping by!

Hero Arts April Sketches
Here are my two cards made from this month's Hero Arts sketch contest. I only attempted two of the sketches and will try the third one later this month. The first card does not have a sentiment as I wanted to use the butterfly to sit within the scalloped circle.
The second card is for a friend who just had a baby girl and I wanted to use my new HA stamp (Four Flowers) recently purchased from the Paperific Expo. I originally embossed the vellum on white patterned vellum and was not happy with how it sits on the card. So I dug out some pink patterned vellum which has been in my stash for I don't know how long. I'm glad I'm finally able to use it and was happy with the end result! I have recently found some transparent mounting tape at Officeworks, which was perfect for the flower in this card.
Both cards will be entered (at the last hour) to A Blog Named Hero's first challenge - play favourites , Simon Says Stamp - Use Your Favourite Tool (My Big Shot) and this month's Hero Arts April challenges.
