It was nice to join in on a Flickr group 90 minute scramble this morning. It's been a few months since I've been able to join in on one due to the international timing! The scramble this morning was hosted by Janet with the theme being 2016. I chose 2 images (sentiment not counted), 0 embellishment, 1 diecut and 6 colours. It was really hard to pick the 6 colours as I normally don't work with too many colours on my cards! The colours I chose were Distress Inks colours Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserve, Mowed Lawn, Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade and Tumbled Glass. The images were stamped onto water colour card and then brushed with some water. The butterfly was also done on water colour card with two colours mixed in with some water. Thanks for dropping by!

HA Scramble 107
Another early Sunday morning for me as I got out of bed at 6am to participate in a Hero Arts Flickr group 90 minute scramble. Once a challenge is set, you have 90 minutes to complete a card and upload to Flickr. Fun eh? The host of today's Scramble is Cat Craig and her challenge was to make a card using your favourite technique, stamps, dies or colours. For those who follow my blogs, you will know straight away what I will choose (I feel sorry for my neglected patterned paper hoard). Watercolours! I went to an Paper Craft show yesterday and picked up some Tim Holtz watercolour paper and used that for this card I made for the scramble. I had also used my favourite HA stamp set, one of my first HA purchases and the most used! I had also picked up Mermaid Lagoon yesterday and wanted to incorporate it into the stamp. (Ranger, the ink pad is not adhered properly to the the container!!) I also combined the following Distress colours - Bundled Sage, Peeled Paint, Salty Ocean, Ripe Persimmon and Seedless Preserve. Clear Wink of Stella was added to the flowers and butterflies. It's hard to tell in the photo!
I'm adding this card to the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Make Your Own Background

Hero Arts Scramble
I haven't participated in a HA scramble on Flickr for a very long time now. A lot of times when I check when it is, it is normally around 4 or 5am Melbourne time! The one yesterday happened to fall on a weekend when our clocks were adjusted for daylight savings. So it ended being at 5am in the morning (but really it was 6am). Even though I slept in a bit the scramble was extended to 2 hours instead of the normal 90 minutes! Thank you Charlene for hosting the scramble. Here is my card (my second attempt) with the inspiration photo below. The distress inks I used were Broken China, Festive Berries, Seedless Preserve and Chipped Sapphire. I'm submitting this card to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Happy Birthday challenge. I'll be back later to show you how I salvaged the piece from my first attempt!

A Quickcard!
It's been a while since my last Hero Arts Flickr group Quickcard Scramble. This is held usually on the weekend and you have 90 minutes to make a card and upload to the group. As most of the hosts are in USA, sometimes the times does not suit Crafters on the other side of the globe. Cat Craig has made today's scramble at a later time so that the Aussies and New Zealanders can join in. So I was up at 6:30am ready for the challenge. The challenge today was to use this photo as inspiration. I've also use the current CAS(E) this Sketch challenge as well. I uploaded the photo at 7:30am! Thank you Cat for the fun challenge!

Hero Arts scramble
It's been a while since my last scramble. Due to international timezones, sometimes it is hard to get one that suits our timing Down-under. This morning's scramble was hosted by Debbie - the challenge is to make a card with navy and mint with Hero Arts stamps within 90 minutes. This morning's challenge started at 7am, I almost missed it as I thought it was on at 8am! Anyway I got it done on time. My real challenge was that I did not have any 'mint' coloured inks. So I decided on using Copic markers instead. This card is also based on the current CAS(E) this sketch #69. I have not made a lot of cards this week, so I'm looking forward to a weekend away at a Craft retreat next weekend. I should come back with lots of new cards!! I'm so looking forward to it!!
Ingredients
Neenah Solar White, Navy card stock, Hero Arts CL497 and CG255, Memento Paris Dusk, Copic Markers, white paint.

First Hero Arts Scramble for 2014!
It's been a while since I've been able to join in a HA Flickr group 90 minute scramble. The last few were not suitable for our timezone. The one held this morning was at 8am AEST which was perfect for me. The host of the scramble posts a challenge at the nominated time and we have 90 minutes to make a card or two and post it to the Flickr group. Sounds like fun? Well, I had a bit of drama as I had made my card within 60 minutes and had a bit of drama trying to upload the photo. The iMac was not communicating with my Nikon! Anyway the iPhone saved the day and I managed to upload the photo right when the bell went! Phew!
Charlene's challenge was: Something old, something new, something shiny and something blue. Here is my card made with an old stamp, using my new Faber-Castell Gelatos with Perfect Pearls misted over. It was very hard to capture the sheen on the card, so the photo does not do it justice!

90 minute Scramble
This is another 90 minute Scramble card from the Hero Arts Flickr group this morning. Twice a month, members of the HA Flickr group host a challenge set at a particular time. The challenge is posted at the start of the scramble and you have 90 minutes to upload the card to the group. I've participated in quite a few of these challenges and they are fun and sometimes challenging. As most of the members are from the US, the times are sometimes not suitable. The one this morning was at 6am Aussie time, so it suited me. The challenge today was to make a card with music/stars/moon/no green/no black or brown. This theme had me stumped as I had no HA music or star stamps. I decided to use a music patterned paper as the background and overstamp with the HA Leafy Vines stamp (one of my favourites). After inking with distress inks, I die cut the moon out and mounted on white card stock. Here is my card and thank you for dropping by!
Ingredients:
Cardstock - Neenah Solar White
Paper - Kaisercraft Black and White Timeless
Stamps - Hero Arts CL497 CG509
Inks - Tim Holtz Distress Inks Broken China, Stormy Sky, Chipped Sapphire
Dies - Spellbinders Standard Circles
Others - Clear embossing powder, Kaisercraft rhinestones

Casing Maile Belles
When I saw the gorgeous card on CASE Study by Maile Belles, I wanted to case it. This morning I participated in a 90 minute scramble on the Hero Arts Flickr group hosted by Marcy, and based my card on it. I used all Hero Arts stamps on this card and I'm also submitting this card to A Blog Named Hero's All that Glitters challenge and Simon Says Stamp's Happy Mail challenge.
I also have a bit of good news to share, another card of mine got accepted for publication in the Paper Crafts Magazine Nov/Dec issue! Yay! Thanks for popping by!

Emboss Scramble
I was up very early morning today for the Hero Arts Flickr group 90 minute scramble. This is my first one for this year as I have not been available the last few scrambles. It's actually fun, a task is set at the start of the scramble and you have 90 minutes to complete and upload the card to the Flickr group. Well, I was not going to participate as I was given a ticket to the Food and Wine Festival's Italian Masterclass with Stefano De Pieri (a well known restauranteur) and Kathleen Quealy (a Boutique winemaker). I had to leave home 60 minutes into the scramble. The task today was to make a card with embossing technique. I had the card done and uploaded well within 50 minutes, with 10 minutes spare to get ready to go out!! Anyway here is my card and I'm also submitting it for the following challenges:
- Moxie Fab World Card Creations Chevron
- The Twinery Chevron and Green
- Simon Says Stamp A Bit of Green
- Die Cut Diva's Anything Green
Now you know why I picked green for this card......
Ingredients:
Cardstock - Neenah Solar White, Green card stock
Stamps - Hero Arts Big Ticket CL544, Tweed Background S5654
Ink - Hero Arts Field Green, Versamark, Versamark white chalk ink
Others - White EP, The Twinery Twine (Seaweed)

Retro Christmas Scramble
I made a card for the Hero Arts Flickr Group 90 minute scramble this morning. The challenge was to make a card with non traditional colours. I based my card on the current Retro Sketch #35 and used Basic Grey's papers. I decided to use blues/greens and a slight hint of red. I used the MFT Dienamics Fishtail STAX die for the banner. This was won for submitting a card drive for Maddy by Jana Millen (I received the prizes two days ago). Thanks Jana! I made the card in under 60 minutes, a personal best! I'm also submitting this card to the Basic Grey - Anything Goes challenge and CAS-ual Fridays' Kraft On Challenge. Thanks for dropping by!
Ingredients:
Cardstock - Via Vellum Kraft, Neenah Solar White

HA Scramble 50
After a very busy weekend, I managed to fit in a 90 minute Hero Arts scramble on the Flickr group hosted by fellow Aussie Chris Millar. I hosted one two weeks ago with a black and white Christmas theme and managed to flood the Flickr group with lots of B/W cards. Chris challenge yesterday was similar - Make a card using black as a background. I love using black on card. I used so much that my stash was all used up. It was lucky that I replenished some after the last scramble! I decided to use paper piecing for this challenge. The flower was stamped twice onto MME Indie Chic Ginger 6x6 papers and the flower and centres were fussy cut. The petals of the flowers were curled and the centre was mounted on foam tape. I added a lot of bling to the centre of the flower - maybe too much!! I also added some faux stitching to the edge of the card, a technique I picked up from Kristina Werner. I'm entering this last WCMD card to the Moxie Fab World Birthday challenge - it closes today. This is also a Clean and Simple card, so I'm adding it to the A Blog Named Hero CAS challenge. Thanks for dropping by!
I recently sent some cards for a card drive organised by Jana Millen. I just found out this morning that I won a prize pack for sending cards for the drive. I sent a card for Maddy, one for her sister Melanie and one for her parents. I was only just happy to participate in the drive, the prize is a bonus on top! Thanks Jana and Christine for organising it!

Black and White Christmas
Wow, I can't believe this is my 71st post! I'm very excited this morning as I am hosting my first Hero Arts 90 minute scramble on the HA Flickr group. The participants have 90 minutes to make a card based on the task set by the host of the scramble. I have participated in many scrambles in the past and it feels strange not rushing off and making a card!
My challenge is based on this inspiration photo taken at Ambiance in Victoria Market last month - Yes, Christmas decorations are up in the shops!
