A 21st Birthday Album for Lauren

I have another 21st album to share from a client order all the way from the United Kingdom. I received the order just before going on the craft retreat a few weeks ago and I was able to work on the album at the retreat. I made this album vintage style in keeping with the album she saw on my blog. The album is quite easy to make with two pieces of cardstock joined to make a concertina album. The pages within the album are all 6.5x6.5 patterned paper from Kaisercraft. All my patterned paper pads at home are all missing pages with not many patterns on them!! I painted the numbers with Kaisercraft paint and heat embossed the Hero Arts Leafy Vines background stamp in gold. The edges are sponged with gold paint - all the materials I used are listed below.
I'm adding this to Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Things with Wings and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes. Thanks for dropping by!

Curiosity?

The Kaisercraft Curiosity collection is finally out! A few months ago, I submitted some cards to Kaisercraft for the 2013-2014 DT call and I got into the second round (Top 20)... I think I might have been #20. Anyway we were given some 12x12 papers from two new collections and had to make a card and a layout out of each collection. I'm showing my submissions for the Curiosity collection below. The photo I used in the layout was one that I took of all the cousins from my side of the family, taken at a wedding last year. My son is the only male, the girls are my sister's and brother's children. It's a rare shot of them all as one of my nieces live in Sydney and the rest are here in Melbourne.  I'm also linking this to Simon Says Stamp's Anything Goes Challenge and Moxie Fab World's It's Completely Collagical challenge.

The projects that got through were fantastic, so I'm not surprised mine wasn't in the running. I was encouraged to try again.
As I had left over papers, I made a 'Sympathy' card for someone from work. As a lot of people had to sign it, I made it A4 size using heavy duty Canson Colorline cardstock as the base It's a struggle to make big sized cards as a lot of the smaller stamps will not work. I went for my biggest flower stamp, the PTI Year of the Flowers Rose stamp and this seems to fill up the card quite nicely. Banners always work well for these big cards as well.

MFW Tuesday Trigger - It's Completely Collagical!

Sketchbook Saturday Wedding Card

Here is my second wedding card that I made for my work colleague! It is an A4 size card which I often have problems with - this is why I don't scrapbook! I wanted to avoid banners as I usually resort to when I have no mojo! When I saw Chupa's sketch on the weekend, I wanted to see if it would work in an A4 format. I've used Kaisercraft's new Curiosity collection which is being revealed in CHA in Las Vegas this week. It is not yet available in the shops. I've made a few cards already with this collection and I just love the colours! Here is my card and the Saturday sketch below it.
I had a query about the vellum I used in this post. I bought this a while ago and I'm not sure if Daiso still stocks them as some of their craft items seem to change whenever I go there. It is not available online. I believe they do have some stores in the US. It's great to shop there for various crafty items. I get my containers, misters, tweezers, washi tapes, origami papers,etc... Although the items are only $2.80 each, when I check out at the counter.... $$$... ka-ching!!!
I'm looking forward to the Craft and Quilt Fair tomorrow. I'm taking a well deserved day off to attend and I've also booked myself in for a class with Prudence Mapstone, so really looking forward to doing a bit of knitting and crochet with her.
Thanks for dropping by!
