First Christmas card for 2015

Finally, I'm reminded that is nearly the end of October and Christmas is just around the corner! I thought I better get started on the Christmas cards. During this time of the year, I like to make as many cards and tags as possible and I usually go for an easy design so that I can mass produce them. That is why I bought a MISTI! The card I'm sharing can easily be mass produced using the MISTI and it is quite easy to assemble. Thanks for dropping by!

I'm back again at Winnie and Walter this week. I have two masculine cards to share for the Black and White theme. Pop over to the Winnie and Walter blog to get details of how they were made.

Easel Chinese wedding card

When I was at the Craft Retreat two weeks ago, I learnt how to make an easel card. I've used a 12"x4" card base scored at 4", 6" and 8", folded and 'Voila'. The front piece was done at the Retreat along with the inside sentiment piece. I think I'll be making more of these cards in future! Oh, the dolls are dressed by My Minds Eyes and the stamps are from Hero Arts and Winnie and Walter.

A Sympathy card

I would like to share a quick sympathy card which I had made two weeks ago. I didn't add a lot of bling to it as I wanted to keep it simple. I heat embossed the Hero Arts stamps with Ranger Liquid Platinum on patterned paper and fussy cut the image. This was so quick to make and effective!

Winnie and Walter Black and White

I was very excited to be a Spotlight on the Winnie and Walter Blog. These are the two cards I made at the recent Craft Retreat with some newly acquired W&W stamp sets. So happy to stamp them, finally! Head on over to W&W to see how I made the cards.

Some Thank You Cards

This is my last week at work and I have made some Thank You cards for my staff. As I had to make a few cards, I did them all at a recent Craft Retreat. I decided to use up some of my pattern paper stash (I seriously don't know how long I have hoard them!) for these cards. When I made them, I did them in small batches of 4 at a time. I found this quite a satisfying process as you can see the finished product without too much effort. I used patterned paper from My Minds Eyes and the stamps are from Hero Arts. Thanks for dropping by!

Fusion Challenge

I would like to share another card I made last weekend at the Craft Retreat. This card is based on the current Fusion Card challenge sketch and the colours from the photo. This card took a little while to come together. I'm also adding this to the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes.  The flowers and leaves were coloured with Copic markers and fussy cut and the pattern paper is from My Mind's Eyes. Thanks for dropping by!

A Crafty Weekend

I just got back from a weekend Craft Retreat with 6 other ladies. Three of us made cards, three sewed and one was an observant. By the end of the weekend, I helped the non-Crafty lady make two cards! I made over 20 cards and prepped some more to finish at home. On the last day of the retreat was World Card Making Day. This is the card I made on the last day for Winnie and Walter's WCMD 2015 for the following challenges:
- Background Building with Shay and
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
Virginia View's Challenge #19 - All Things Coloured

A photo from our Retreat for Winnie and Walter WCMD2015!

Tall Flowers Thanks

I'm using my favourite technique again for a quick 'Thank You' card. I decided to stamp the flowers on the side and added the embossed sentiment. The flowers were coloured in with my limited range of Kuretake Zig Clean Colour brushes and then highlighted with Wink of Stella (which is a bit hard to see as I'm doing this in the middle of the night). This card is based on the current CTS#142 and I'm also adding this to Virginia View's Challenge #19 - All Things Coloured and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes.
I'm off to a Craft Retreat this weekend. I hope to get plenty of time to make more cards! I'm going to be off blogland for a little while as I've got an overseas trip planned the following weekend! Thanks for dropping by!!
