Hydrangea Card - Take 2

When I returned to my Craft Table, there were extra stamped images of the hydrangea on water colour paper. As I recently purchased some Zig Clean Colour water markers, I wanted to give them a trial run. I didn't pre-wet the paper. I just brushed on the two colours and then wiped over with a wet brush. I couldn't believe how easy this was! I decided to fussy cut the image. The background was a bit of trial and error. I tried sponging with distress inks first and was not happy with the result. So I got out the Ranger Texture paste instead. Oh, I was inspired by the current Runway Inspired Challenge - Monique Lhuillier and I'm also adding this to A Blog Named Hero's current challenge - As Clean and Simple as can be and last but not least, Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes! Oh, another challenge - A2z Sccrapbooking Embossing challenge

Hydrangea Card

I picked up a huge Montval Aquarelle Mega Pad on the weekend with 100 sheets of 200gsm paper and wanted to try it out. I find that different brands of watercolour paper reacts differently so a bit of experimentation is needed. For this first experiment, I used distress inks and here is my result. I really liked the way the inks hold their colours after drying the paper. I'm going to have another go with the Gansai Tambi watercolours next and compare. Thanks for dropping by... Oh, if you are interested and live in Melbourne, Eckersleys have a sale on this Mega Pad until the end of the month $34.95 for 100 sheets!

A Card for Baby Matilda

Friends of mine just recently became Grandparents again. A boy the first time and now a baby Grandchild. I have made a card for the proud parents of Baby Matilda. Congratulations!
The card was inspired by the latest Paper Smooches Sparks photo inspiration. Here it is!

ABNH Metallic Challenge

It has been really hard to get my mojo going this week. I decided to go for a very simple card for this week's A Blog Named Hero challenge. I knew I wanted to use heat embossing with my favourite EP - Ranger Liquid Platinum. The rest was easy when I spotted my HA big flower stamp and used vellum to stamp on. As I've used up nearly a packet of Kaisercraft pearls for this card, I'm adding this to Virginia View's Embellished Challenge. Here is my card and thanks for dropping by!

Tangerine Fun!

I had a really busy day at work today after a sleepless night last night. When I got home, there was a parcel waiting for me with some crafty goodies from the team at the A Blog Named Hero Facebook page. There was a packet of Hero Arts cardstock and the tangerine one caught my attention as being perfect for the Runway Inspired Challenge - Christian Siriano! Here is my card based on the current CAS(E) this Sketch. I'm also adding this card to Virginia View's Challenge - Embellished.  This a is nice way to end the day... blogging!!

CTS#134

A card I made for CAS(E) This Sketch #134 using masking and sponging with distress inks. Before I stamped the Hero Arts images, I decided to soften the circles by sprinkling some water on the inked areas. I just love how the inks react with water! I used a very old Hero Arts stampset CL509 Luscious Frames to finish off the design. I also wanted to enter this card for Virginia View's Challenge, so I added lots of embellishments! Thanks for dropping by!

A Birthday Card for Amy!

This card is for a very special little friend of mine who was adopted by two very loving parents. She was born with a cleft lip and has endured many cosmetic and dental surgeries to correct the problem. There are still many more operations to come. She is a lovely little girl and is always so bubbly and I get to see her every time she has an appointment at The Children's Hospital where I work. Happy Birthday Amy! I've used a Lawn Fawn's Critters Downunder stampset for this card with alphabet dies from MFT Dienamics. I'm adding this card to Virginia View's Challenge - Add Embellishments (Glitter tape and glass drops) and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes. Thanks for dropping by!
