Watercolour Dahlia

I'm back with another card using the Hero Arts Artistic Dahlia stamp. Lots of masking created this background of flowers on watercolour card. Only two colours were applied with Zig markers to create this lightly washed effect. I'm adding this to this month's A Blog Named Hero's May Watercolour Challenge. Thank you for dropping by!

This post is for A Blog Named Hero's Facebook Fan Page

Stamps - Hero Arts Artistic Dahlia and Many Everyday Messages

Stencil Water Colour Background

I'm trying a new technique (for me) using water colours and a stencil. I was inspired by Betsy Veldman on the recent MIM challenge to make this card. I don't have many PTI stencils and decided to use one from the Garden Gate kit. As the watercolour panel was quite big, I was able to make two cards with it.  Here they are! Thanks for dropping by!

Materials:
Stamps - PTI A Sweet Life
Stencil - PTI Garden Gate kit
Inks - PTI Simply Charteuse and Pinfeather, Altenew Blush, Rouge and Ruby Red
Paper - Neenah Desert Storm, Arches Watercolour card

Lest we forget

I have a card to share today for our ANZAC Day to commemorate the fall of Australian and New Zealand soldiers during the war. This was made at our recent craft retreat with a borrowed Penny Black stamp which I absolutely  love! The card was coloured with Copic markers and a white gel pen. The background was masked on two sides and the distress ink was brushed on with a Clarity brush (again borrowed at the retreat). I'm adding this to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Showers and/or Flowers. Lest we forget.

Materials:
Stamps - Penny Black Poppy Time, MFT Deepest Sympathy
Inks - Copic Markers, Distress Ink Broken China

Spotted Butterfly

I made this card by stamping a spotted background stamp with various coloured inks and then die cutting the butterfly. The frame background was made with a scallop frame die and the inside square was embossed to add a bit of textured interest. I'm adding this card to the current A Blog Named Hero's Anything Goes challenge. Thanks for dropping by!

Materials
Stamp: Hero Arts Sentiment

Tulips!

I had such a busy Easter weekend that I only managed to make one card to blog!! I recently found a stash of original wood block stamps that I purchased when I started stamping over 20 years ago! There was a local stamp shop that stocked a lot of PSX stamps and a lot of my stamps were purchased from this shop. I was inspired by the bunch of tulips as I had a some pink tulips for our Easter Sunday dinner. When I purchased them from the florist, the sales lady gave told me to put a silver coin in the vase to prevent them from flopping. In all the years I have bought tulips, I have never heard this before and all my tulips usually flopped after a day or two. I've got a photo below of our table set up the day after I bought the tulips. All upright!! As I blog this on Monday night, they are still upright!! The card below shows what will happen if you don't add a coin to the vase!! I've based the design of the card on the current CAS(E) this sketch challenge and I'm linking it up to the current Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Tulips.  Hope everyone had a great Easter weekend! Thanks for dropping by!!
