World Card Making Day 2014

It took us a little while to try and get 5 people together for a Crafting weekend. At the last minute we decided that the first weekend in October suited 3 of us and it happened to coincide with World Card Making Day on 4th October. Lyndal and I drove down to Queenscliff, about 1.5 hours drive from Melbourne to Jenny's beach house. As we came down after work we were a bit tired to start crafting. After a caffeine kick on Saturday we were off. It was so good to try out each other's stamp and die collection. Initially, our theme was Christmas but we got side-tracked with other challenges and DT work (not photographed by the way). Our tally on Saturday night was 15 cards. We were joined by Chupa on Sunday morning. We were excited to meet her family but we were more excited when we saw her WPlus9 and PB stash! Sadly it all had to end Sunday afternoon. Final tally was 29 cards with Chupa managing to make one in the morning! About a third of the cards were Christmas ones. Thank you to Jenny for hosting and Lyndal and Chupa for use of your collections!

This first card was made on Sunday morning when I decided to join in on Festive Friday's #41 challenge (inspiration photo below). Lyndal and Jenny had both made cards the day before using the same MFT Dienamics Winter Wreath die. It is great to see how we all had interpreted the same challenge and came up with three different cards! I'm too tired to blogged the rest of the cards, I will be adding them later this week! Thanks for dropping by. I've added some photos I took below .

  4. Really soft and lovely - not the colors you'd expect from a Christmas card and that's what makes it so great!
